Texas Sales Tax ID
The State of Texas requires all Crafters, Other Non-Food Item Sales Item and Pet Food Vendors to have a Sales Tax ID under their business name and/or under their DBA. Therefore it is required at our Farmers Market.
If you do not have one you may purchase one at the Texas Comptrollers Office HERE. Once you have one it will transfer with you anywhere in the United States. (Some states may require a small modification fee when you move.)
Helpful Advice: If you do not have a Sales Tax ID number currently please think big picture when submitting to the comptroller for your Tax ID number.
Example: You want to make wood crafts but only want to make tables and chairs right now but might want to make bookshelves or wood jewelry later on. Put anything you might want to craft under your sales tax ID when you apply. You can take away items but you can not add items to your Sales TAX ID once issued without having to get a new Sales TAX ID Number or paying a fee for modifying your sales tax permit.
