Handcrafter application process:
Being a certified ALL Local Farmers Market, all our vendors, even our artisans, MUST locally handcraft the items they intend to sell, sample, or give away at TFM.
Please make sure you put everything you intend to sell on your application. All items must be approved by the Vendor Committee. Only approved items may be sold at our market.
Our market is a TRUE Farmers Market and set up to grow small businesses, and therefore, we have category limits to encourage this growth.
At this time we only have potential spaces for Fill-In Vendors. All Vendors are required to commit to at LEAST 2 Saturday markets each month for at least a year.
All Handcrafted and Non-Food vendors must upload their Tax ID number to your application. You can obtain one HERE.
- Register at the top right to gain access to our secure online application process. Once your access is approved, you will be able to log in and be taken to our Application Portal.
- Every couple of months, the Vendor Committee and TFM staff meet to review all New Applications as part of our multiple-step application process.
- Each applicant is thoroughly vetted to ensure they meet TFM and local, state and federal requirements to operate legally in Texas.

Common Questions we get from other applicants:
- I sell products for a company but I don’t make them. Can I sell at Tomball Farmers Market? No. ALL items must be homemade, handcrafted or homegrown within 180 miles of Tomball to qualify.
- Do I need insurance? Yes! All vendors need Business Liability Insurance.
- Check with YOUR Insurance Company first. If they don't carry BLI here is a link to some other vendors use HERE.
- My business is part of a franchise….does my business qualify? No. All items must be homemade, handcrafted or home grown within 180 Miles of Tomball. Franchises that are independently owned and operated do not qualify either.
- Would my products be eligible for sale at Tomball Farmers Market if my products are repurposed or made using a specialty machine like a 3-D Printer, cricket Machine, Embroidery machine, t-shirt press or sublimating machines, etc...?
- No. All items must be personally handcrafted to qualify at our market. We can not accept products using specialized machine made products or wholesale clothing or repurposed clothing products.
- I make Pet Food/Animal Feed would I qualify?
- Yes, However, only businesses that have their business and their pet food/feed products properly documented and verified through labeling, applicable local, state and federal regulatory information, and vendor-provided records can be considered for TFM review and approval.

- You will need a current copy of your Texas State Chemist license and be in compliance with the TSC office HERE.
- Only businesses and products listed on the Texas State Chemist Approved Pet Food/Animal Feed Products database can be considered for TFM review and approval.

- You will also need a sales tax permit.

- I make products that contain CBD/Hemp what do I need?
- Texas Health and Human Services requires registration and a manufactures license through them. HERE.
- As of August 2, 2024 a license to manufacture, process and distribute consumable hemp products is required. The fee for an initial license, valid for one year, is $258 per facility.
- Retailers currently selling consumable hemp products, including those containing cannabinoids, must register each location where the products will be sold no later than Oct. 2. The fee for an initial registration, valid for one year, is $155 per location.
- A consumable hemp product is a food, drug, device, or cosmetic that contains industrial hemp or hemp-derived cannabinoids, including cannabidiol (CBD). These products may not contain more than 0.3 percent concentration of THC.
As a private farmers' market nonprofit organization, TFM maintains independent discretion regarding vendor participation, approved products, product categories, operational limitations, and administrative review procedures applicable across all vendor categories. TFM’s procedures are intended to ensure the organization can reasonably document, identify, track, verify, monitor, and administer approved products offered within the market under TFM’s current operational procedures, organizational standards, available administrative resources, and applicable insurance and liability considerations.
