Thank You for a Great Weekend & Hello to Fall Weather at Tomball Farmers Market!

10/30/2025

Comments

It takes a truly dedicated community to make a farmers market thrive, and Tomball, you proved your dedication last Saturday!

We want to send a huge thank you to every single person who came out. We know the weather was a little tricky—we had that on-again, off-again rain and mostly gloomy skies for a good part of the morning. But guess what? You showed up anyway! And just like a perfect fall movie, the clouds parted for a beautiful, welcome sun finish, making all that effort worth it. Thank you for showing up for our farmers and vendors, rain or shine!

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Donors!

We are absolutely beaming over the success of our recent TEAM Food Drive. Your generosity was truly overwhelming! We were able to fill multiple boxes with non-perishable goods, providing a significant and necessary contribution to Tomball Emergency Assistance Ministries (TEAM). Every item donated makes a direct impact on our neighbors right here in the community, and that incredible spirit of giving is what makes this market so special. You all made a huge difference, and we are profoundly grateful for your kindness and support.

Welcoming the Real Fall Weather

Now, the wait is officially over: it finally feels like true fall in Tomball! That beautiful, crisp, low-humidity air has arrived, making conditions absolutely perfect for getting out and enjoying the season.

This weekend, ditch the indoor routine and come stroll through the market with us. You'll find the freshest bounty from our dedicated local farmers, the most mouth-watering prepared goods from our food vendors, unique, handcrafted items from our local crafters, and all the seasonal fun you could ask for. Come grab that pumpkin spice coffee and wander through the perfect fall morning!

Make It a Full Day: Depot Day Festival is Here!

But the fun doesn't stop when you leave the market! This Saturday is extra special because the Depot Day Fall Festival kicks off right next door at the Tomball Depot at 11:00 AM.

Make a whole day of it! Once you’ve stocked up on your weekly fresh food and market treats, hop over to the Depot to enjoy fantastic live music, delicious festival food, and plenty of family fun. It’s the perfect opportunity for community cheer and soaking up the autumn vibes with the whole family.

We can’t wait to share the cozy, autumnal atmosphere with you this weekend. The air is delightful, the vendors are ready, and we hope to see you all enjoying the sunshine, the cool breeze, and the best of Tomball! Let’s savor these beautiful moments before November rolls in.

Warmly,

The Tomball Farmers Market Team

Hello Tomball Farmers Market Friends,

It's that wonderful time of the week again! We're preparing for another vibrant market day this Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM in our usual spot located right off of Main St. in downtown Tomball.

We know you know where to find us—we pride ourselves on being your reliable, weekly destination. But while the location stays the same, we promise that the discoveries never do!

Every single Saturday, our dedicated farmers, bakers, and artisans bring something new. Whether it's the season's first batch of sweet potatoes, a newly formulated local honey, unique handcrafted jewelry, or a surprise baked good you've never tried, you are always sure to find something new to take home and enjoy. Come browse the last of the summer tomatoes alongside the incoming abundance of fall squash and pumpkins!

We're looking forward to sharing the morning with you but hop on over to the Depot later on at 4pm for a Spooktacular 2nd Saturday at the Depot! They will have games, bounce houses, and of course tons of candy! Be sure to wear your spooky and silly costumes and settle in for their movie night beginning at dusk!

Since it is officially the season of falling leaves and fun holidays, we wanted to leave you with a little something to get your Saturday smile started:

Check out this refreshing Golden Beet & Grapefruit Salad with Local Feta

Cheese recipe from our friends at Edible Houston!

Picture
Ingredients
  • 1 extra-large golden beet, scrubbed clean
  • 2 lemons, juiced
  • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons local honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 large, ripe grapefruit
  • 1 tablespoon pomegranate seeds
  • 1 radish, thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup fresh local feta cheese, cubed or crumbled
  • 5–6 pecans, chopped
Instructions
  • STEP 1: Do 3 hours ahead of time or the day before. In a small pot, submerge the beet in hot water just to cover. Bring water to a boil, then turn down to simmer for 30–45 minutes, or until it’s fork tender. Remove the beet from the pot and place it into a bowl of ice water. Once cool to the touch, peel the beet with your fingers. The peel should come off smoothly and easily. Thinly slice the beet with a mandolin slicer, then place slices into a bowl.
  • STEP 2: Make a marinade for the beet slices: Whisk together half of the lemon juice, white wine vinegar, garlic, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 tablespoon olive oil and salt to taste. Pour marinade over the beets and let sit in the fridge for 1–2 hours, or overnight.
  • STEP 3: Make the dressing: Whisk together the remaining honey and olive oil plus remaining lemon juice. Zest the grapefruit into the dressing to taste.
  • STEP 4: Cut grapefruit into slices and cut away the peel and rind. Plate the salad with beet slices, grapefruit slices, pomegranate seeds, radish, feta, pecans and dressing. Add salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy!

From BBQ Bliss to Fresh Finds: Rejuvenate Your Palate at the Tomball Farmers Market This Saturday!

9/4/2025

The last wafts of mesquite smoke have cleared, the charcoal grills are cooling down, and your fridge might still be overflowing with the delicious remnants of your Labor Day barbecue celebrations. We hope you had a fantastic long weekend filled with good food, great company, and perhaps a little well-deserved relaxation!
But now that you've had your fill of those smoky, savory delights, aren't you ready to give your taste buds something fresh, vibrant, and utterly delightful to look forward to? We certainly think so!

This Saturday, September 6, it’s time to swap your grill tongs for a reusable shopping tote and head on down to the Tomball Farmers Market! We’ll be bursting at the seams with the freshest, most beautiful produce imaginable, all lovingly grown by local farmers right here in our community.
Imagine:
  • Juicy, sun-ripened tomatoes begging to be sliced into a caprese salad.
  • Crisp, leafy greens perfect for a refreshing post-holiday salad.
  • Sweet corn, just waiting to be boiled or grilled (yes, we know, but it's different!).
  • A vibrant rainbow of seasonal fruits and vegetables that will inspire countless healthy and delicious meals.
It’s the perfect opportunity to hit the reset button after a holiday of indulgence, bringing home ingredients that are not only incredibly flavorful but also packed with nutrients.

Speaking of produce, we're thrilled to welcome a new vendor to the Tomball Farmers Market family: Pruitt Farms! You'll find a beautiful selection of seasonal fruits and vegetables at their booth, all grown using sustainable farming practices. This commitment to the land results in produce that is bursting with flavor and nutrient-rich. Be sure to stop by their booth this weekend to say hello and stock up on some of the finest produce around!

Still Craving That BBQ Fix? We've Got You Covered!

We get it – those Labor Day leftovers can be persistent! If your barbecue bounty is still calling your name but needs a little something extra, don't worry, the Market has your back. Explore our incredible selection of local vendors offering artisan sauces, unique spice blends, and gourmet condiments. A splash of a new, zesty BBQ sauce or a sprinkle of a smoky spice mix can transform those leftovers from "again?" to "amazing!" Trust us, your taste buds (and your leftovers) will thank you for that little "zhuzh."

More Than Just Veggies: A True Community Experience

The Tomball Farmers Market is so much more than just a place to buy produce. It's a vibrant hub of our community, a place where you can:
  • Meet the Makers: Chat directly with the farmers who grow your food and the artisans who craft unique goods.
  • Discover Local Treasures: Beyond fruits and veggies, you’ll find golden local honey, freshly baked artisan breads, farm-fresh eggs, handmade soaps, intricate crafts, and so much more.
  • Enjoy the Fresh Air: Take a leisurely stroll, enjoy the lively atmosphere, and soak up some sunshine. It’s a wonderful way to spend your Saturday morning, supporting local businesses and connecting with your neighbors.
So, this Saturday, put down that last piece of leftover cornbread, grab your reusable bags, and come join us for a morning of fresh air, fresh food, and community spirit. It's the perfect antidote to the holiday hustle and a fantastic way to kickstart a week of healthy, delicious eating.
We can't wait to see your smiling faces there!
