Why shopping local Farmers Markets is Important
  1. Local is Fresher: Grocery store produce come from all over the country and world! Our farmers offer produce that is fresh-picked, sometimes the very same day.
  2. More Nutritious: Our Local Produce is typically sustainably grown and more nutrient-dense. The produce is packed with nutrients, not chemicals as most of our farmers choose to grow their crops in ways that give back to the soil instead of depleting it.
  3. Supports Local Economy: Supporting your local farmers market also supports your local economy and local family farms that have been in Texas for generations.  Buying from local farmers and local vendors helps to ensure that they will remain in business for the long term.
  4. Conservation: With the cost of everything increasing at the grocery and at the gas pump by purchasing directly from local farmers and local vendors, you’ll be helping to conserve fuel, and are helping farmers continue to grow and protect our environment.
  5. Connecting with your food: You can even visit our local farms and see their practices in person. This helps to develop a relationship between the farmer and the consumer.
