Tomball Farmers Market, Truly Local Farmers Market

Until I started working for our farmers market years ago I never really gave much thought to wear my food came from and assumed all food was created equal.  Boy was I wrong! And now with supply issues across our country, recalls on food, GMO's in everything and our continued soil degradation it's so incredibly important to go back to eating what grows locally and supporting our local farmers in these efforts.

They work tirelessly and often have a thankless job.  They do it because they love the land. Tomball Farmers Market is fortunate enough to be able to provide our community with truly local  farm fresh produce, meats and canned goods that are in season. And we also get to bring our community truly local baked goods, prepared foods, drinks & snacks that are actually good for your body.

I have found that my husband and I eat smaller portions, eat healthier and even when I crave something sweet like macaroons from Indulge that sweet craving is more easily satisfied and I am not feeling hungry all the time or "waiting" for that next meal.  Your body just knows what to do with local, healthy food.  I am grateful that we have such wonderful talented farmers and producers at our market to choose from each week.

It's been a busy week and our weather certainly has been up and down this week.  Being a farmer isn't for the weak of heart.  Our farmers are dependent on the weather, soil, animals, growth etc... year round to bring local food to your table each week. And now more than ever with our ever changing food systems and big chain stores falling short on supplies buying local is important.

We are so grateful to be able to host such an amazing group of farmers, producers and artisans each weekend.
